A Dream Realized: «O Helga Natt»
In Christmas 2024, Norwegian singer Didrik Solli-Tangen will unveil his most personal project to date, the Christmas album «O Helga Natt». This poignant release is a heartfelt tribute to his late mentor and beloved singing teacher, Anders Vangen. Vangen played a pivotal role in encouraging Didrik to pursue his passion for classical music, and this album aims to honor his legacy while also creating a joyous and authentic Christmas atmosphere.
On the album you’ll find guest performances featuring notable musicians like soprano Mari Eriksmoen, trumpeter Ole Edvard Antonsen and Oslo Fagottkor, this project vows to be a true celebration of music, memory, and the spirit of Christmas.
A Collaboration with KORK
«O Helga Natt» will feature collaborations with the renowned Norwegian Broadcasting Orchestra (KORK) and several of Norway’s leading artists. Through strong musical performances, Didrik intends to blend traditional Christmas classics with fresh interpretations, resulting in a collection that resonates with warmth and nostalgia. In his own words, «This album has been a big dream of mine for as long as I can remember». emphasising the significance of this undertaking not only for him but for his supporters as well.
A Christmas Tour to Remember
Fans can look forward to a first taste of the album on 25 October, when the single «Gje Meg Handa Di, Ven» is released. Following that, the complete album will be available on 8 November, marking the beginning of an exciting holiday season. On 29 November, Didrik will embark on a Christmas tour named after the album, beginning in Lørenskog and culminating at Ibsenhuset in Skien on 20 December.
