Tarjei Strøm Appointed as New Music Manager for MGP

-

Tarjei Strøm has been appointed as the new music manager for Melodi Grand Prix, succeeding Stig Karlsen. Strøm shares his gratitude and enthusiasm for promoting Norwegian music.

Exciting News for Melodi Grand Prix Enthusiasts

In a highly anticipated announcement, Tarjei Strøm has officially been named the new music manager for Melodi Grand Prix (MGP). Following the resignation of Stig Karlsen, who stepped down in October, the music community has been buzzing with speculation and excitement surrounding this key appointment.

Strøm’s Vision and Commitment

Strøm expressed his gratitude about taking on this pivotal role, stating, «I am humbled and grateful for this incredibly exciting opportunity. This is simply my dream job and I am really looking forward to getting started». His passion for MGP and dedication to promoting Norwegian music are qualities that will benefit the competition, particularly in an industry that demands innovation and engagement.

A Seasoned Professional in the Music Scene

With a robust background in the music industry, Tarjei Strøm is far from a newcomer. Known for his involvement with notable bands such as Datarock and Ralph Myerz, he brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the music landscape in Norway. Strøm’s knowledge of the MGP circuit positions him as a well-qualified leader. He acknowledges, «I know the MGP circus very well, both inside and out», which promises a seamless transition into his new responsibilities.

As Strøm settles into his role, fans can look forward to innovative music selections that showcase the best talent Norway has to offer. With his commitment and extensive contacts within the music community, the future looks bright for Melodi Grand Prix under Tarjei Strøm’s guidance.

Stig Karlsen is in charge of selecting the MGP songs for 2025, so Tarjei Strøm’s influence will be absent in 2025. Stig Karlsen also picked last year failure, Gåte’s «Ulvehavn» for MGP 2024, resulting in Norway finishing last in Eurovision again.
