Discover Norway's next music star with Universal Music and United Stage.

Discovering Norway’s Next Country Sensation

For the second consecutive year, Universal Music and United Stage proudly announce their collaboration with the renowned country festival in Seljord to embark on an exciting journey: the hunt for Norway’s new country star, or Norges Nye Countrystjerne. This initiative is not just about finding talent; it’s about discovering remarkable voices ready to shine on the Norwegian music scene.

A Successful Year: Tobias Sten

Last year’s hunt was a resounding success, resulting in the discovery of super talent Tobias Sten. After participating in auditions held in Elverum, Bø, and Fredrikstad, Tobias signed with Universal Music in June. His EP, featuring radio-listed hits and well-streamed tracks, has resonated with fans. He showcased his talent at major events like Bylarm and Trondheim Calling and completed his first tour with sold-out concerts, setting the stage for a vibrant festival summer ahead.

Auditions and Opportunities Await

This year, the search continues for a talented individual between the ages of 18 and 30 who can perform country music in Norwegian. They’ll have the opportunity to secure a record deal with Universal Music, a booking agreement with United Stage, and a chance to perform at the country festival in Seljord this summer. Auditions will take place in Oslo, Trondheim, and Kristiansand at the end of March. Interested candidates should register by March 19th at countrystjerne.no.

The enthusiasm for country music in Norway is growing, and we believe there are many more undiscovered talents out there. This initiative aims to promote the genre and help develop local voices that can capture the hearts of audiences, just as American country stars have done. Join us in the search for Norway’s next country star!
